When in Newburgh…

All this talk us Newburgh this week has reminded of three places we’ve been dying to visit next time we’re in town. Maybe you’ve been. Maybe you can tell us if we should go, too! Maybe we’ll bump into each other there and awkwardly avoid eye contact. Either way, let’s all go to Newburgh!

Newburgh Vintage Emporium, 5006 Route 9W (GMAP):

We’ve been staring at the pictures on their website and Facebook page, wondering why we didn’t know about this place before, and, now that we know, why we haven’t been there. Lots of cool ephemera, furniture, custom-made stuff, upcycled thingamabobs, etc. spread out over 11,000 square feet and 50 vendors. Open Tues-Sun 10-6. (845) 562 5200.

nimais

Nimai’s Bliss Kitchen, 94 S Robinson Avenue (GMAP):

Ever since Chronogram featured this vegetarian, Ayurveda-based restaurant, we’ve been dying to come in and have a meal based on our dosha. Don’t let that scare you away. Bliss Kitchen has pizza, sandwiches, salads, pasta, and a buffet…and we want to try them all. Open Mon-Sat 12-9 with lunch buffet 12-3 and dinner service after 5pm. (845) 245 6048.

motorcycle museum

Motorcyclepedia Museum, 250 Lake Street (GMAP):

Not a motorcycle buff but definitely a HUGE museum buff. If it’s behind a glass case or in a display, we’ll probably spend money to go see it, and that includes the Motorcyclepedia Museum in Newburgh. Besides, how can anyone possibly resist something called the Wall of Death? Now you’re curious. Open Fri-Sun 10-5. (845) 569 9065.
