Woodstock Split-Level Ranch Awash in Natural Light, $249,900
Kandy Harris | July 21, 2015Leave it to Woodstock to bring us a Split-Level Ranch that actually grabs our attention. But, of course, since this is Woodstock, this is no ordinary Split-Level Ranch. It’s a sustainable, earth-fiendly abode with solar panels, skylights to reduce the use of artificial lighting, high-efficiency hybrid electric water heater, and a wood stove for warmth. The real crown jewel of the home, however, is the glass atrium that offers a full view of the trees and sky so you can stay connected with nature even while you’re inside eating your Cheerios. There are some other unique touches, too, like a wall of book shelves (oh god yes!) and a hand-painted backsplash in the (tiny) kitchen. Since we’re focusing on artistic and creative communities this week, we wanted to find something with a studio for those creative endeavors, and this one’s got it. Set up as a massage therapy room, the studio has a separate entrance, full bath with shower, wood stove, and a fridge, which means it could double as guest quarters, as well. Property is a half-acre in size and comes with fenced-in garden, patio w/hot tub, grape arbor, and fruit trees. Which is all great, but they kind of had us at “glass atrium.”
