Putnam Valley Contemporary, $399,000
Kandy Harris | August 26, 2013Is it possible to classify something as “rustic contemporary”? We think so, and this house seems to fit the bill well. The exterior is funky and different in a completely 1970s way (which makes sense; it was built in 1975), but the inside is cozy with not too much knotty pine. Our favorite feature is the woodstove situated in the big bay of windows in the living room. Kitchen seems small. We like the location for its privacy (Tyler Road is a dead end) and the fact that its stream-side and, according to the listing, close to a private community beach. Yes, we’re still thinking about swimming every day. Summer is over when we say it’s over, and no sooner than that.
