Unique Cottage with Mountain Views + 1.6 Acres in Lloyd, $89,900
Kandy Harris | April 15, 2016Any promising five-figure properties in Westchester County? Not so much. So we’re moving this party over to Ulster County. The town of Lloyd, that is, which is about five minutes away from the Poughkeepsie train station. There’s quite a bit going for this unusual 1 bed/1 bath cottage on stilts with views of the mountains. For starts, it seems private enough in spite of its residential location. Secondly, it comes with over and acre-and-a-half of land, which is great for the price. And finally, the taxes don’t seem too unreasonable for the area (close to New Paltz, the Thruway, Poughkeepsie Metro-North, Hudson River, etc.) at $5400/year.
Fix it up, make it your convenient retreat in the heart of Hudson Valley wine county, or full renovate it into a modest full-time home. Either way, that’s some front deck for spending time outside. Definitely a selling point.
