A Chic, Petite Bungalow in Coxsackie for $229K

  |  August 14, 2024

Today, Upstater is at a chic, petite bungalow in Coxsackie that’s close to the village’s amenities.

Coming in at under 1,000 square feet, the c.1930 bungalow is laid out cleverly enough to fit two bedrooms and two baths comfortably. Does it need some cosmetic updates? Probably, but its $229,000 price tag allows for that. A covered front porch leads to a sunroom.

This sunroom opens to the kitchen, which we’ll explore later. For now, let’s swing around to another, smaller enclosed foyer.

A French door from the foyer opens to a spacious living room with hardwood flooring.

White walls contrast well with the dark floor.

The primary bedroom is just off the living room.

Fully wallpapered and with a distressed-white floor, the bedroom gives off vintage vibes.

The ensuite bath includes a water closet for the toilet (you can catch a glimpse of that in the virtual tour), and a good-sized bathroom with a tiled shower.

These tiny, two-tap, wall-mounted sinks are just too cute.

Another doorway off the living room leads to the kitchen. It’s been well-loved, but may need a lot of updating. Those cherry cabinet doors are worth refinishing, though.

So is the wood floor.

The second bedroom is currently used as a dining room, we think. A decorative mantel abuts one wall; up above is a wagon-wheel chandelier unlike any others we’ve seen in recent memory. Horizontal electric candlelight, anyone?

The second bathroom has an updated vintage look, with penny tile on the floor, a nice-sized tub/shower, and a wall-mounted sink across from the toilet.

White subway tile surrounds the tub/shower.

A walk-out basement has potential, too.

The half-acre property is a half-mile from the Reed Street Historic District and Coxsackie General Store.
