Darrell James plays Scrooge in this year’s A Christmas Carol

With Thanksgiving around the corner, it’s only appropriate to start planning December outings and activities now. For a holiday themed night out, look no further than Half Moon Theatre‘s production of A Christmas Carol. Performances are during the first three weekends of December at the Culinary Institute of America, which means it’d be silly not to go for dinner beforehand at one of the several delicious choices presented by the Hyde Park school. If the classic Christmas tale isn’t quite your favorite, don’t worry, because HMT will be presenting an adaptation by Patrick Barlow, in which “five actors bring Charles Dickens’ iconic characters to life in this streamlined, highly theatrical re-telling of Scrooge’s redemption”. There’s nothing like the classic past, but there’s also no time like the present for a twist on the original (and a future in which to enjoy it). Plus, it’s guaranteed family-friendly, no matter who you may be thinking of bringing.

Performances of A Christmas Carol will be at 8pm Fridays and Saturdays, as well as 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Purchase tickets now for the opening night show, with a dessert reception following the performance. Tickets range from $22 to $50 and are available on Half Moon Theatre’s website.
