A Cold Spring Cape: $799K

  |  October 10, 2024

Just about every home in Cold Spring is too darn cute. Take this Cape Cod, for instance. Even the risers on the outside steps are cute.

The house’s exterior is classic black and white, with twin dormers punching through the roofline.

This Cape was built in 1955, but has been well-maintained and updated. The center-hall staircase is sleek, with clean lines in its white risers and oak treads that match the wall/flooring ethos.

Built-in bookshelves and drawers in the living room provide a useful and beautiful touch. An elegant white fireplace has a brick lining surrounding an efficient, wood-burning stove.

This bright screened-in porch is just off the living room.

The dining room shows off classic chair rail and wide, white baseboards, along with a pass-through…

…into a bright white kitchen. Gray granite tops white cabinetry, except for butcher block that covers a center island. If we were the new owners, we’d consider swapping out those stools—because seeing them, we kinda want to get either a haircut or some dental work.

We’re digging that double-oven gas range, though. And the glazed subway-tile backsplash is an easy-care detail.

The primary bedroom is upstairs. It has a hardwood floor, and a bonus room…

…that could be an office, a closet, or a spare room.

The primary ensuite bath has an oversized glass shower and a sleek, walnut-toned vanity.

The second bedroom has a dormer that perfectly fits an easy chair.

The third bedroom is currently operating as an office.

The shared bath has beige walls with white trim…

…and mosaic tile surrounding the bifold-glass-doored tub/shower.

The house is on a generous quarter-acre, with a block patio and gardens within a fenced backyard.

Mature trees and lawn provide curb appeal. Centrally located near parks, the library, and schools, this Cape Cod is only a half-mile from great dining at Riverview.
