A Cool Cornwall Contemporary: 70s style awaits inside.

Today, Upstater is at a cool Cornwall contemporary in Orange County.
It was built in 1974—which, when you see the interior, you’ll say, “Well, yeah, it obviously was.” For now, let’s appreciate the interesting lines. Is it…chalet? A-frame? A style unto itself? It’s kinda got Alpine lines in the steep roofs and second-floor terrace. But the blue? And the pink? Definitely a house that stands on its own.

Ah, the ’70s! Painted, wrought-iron railings…stone accented walls…and spiral stairs galore. The living room is fully wall-to-wall carpeted, and the ceiling soars to double heights. The angled walls have rustic support beams.

Oh, so THAT’S where all that light originates. A literal double-story wall of windows and sliding-glass doors imbues an outdoors-in look and soaks the interior in sunlight.

The kitchen is rather tiny but serviceable, with newer, stainless-steel appliances and white counters over what look like cherry cabinets.

The dining room has triple, vertical casement windows.

The first of four bedrooms has warm wall-to-wall carpeting and large windows on one end.

Past the louver-door closets, we see this room has an open railing overlooking the main level.

The ’70s can run, but it cannot hide. We see you, avocado-green tub/shower in the first full bath.

Another spiral stair interrupts this reading area. But who doesn’t love a disruptor nowadays?

A shiny steel ceiling fan reflects the blues and oranges of this bright bedroom.

Same goes for this room, only in yellow and green. Both have fluffy wall-to-wall carpeting.

A bunk bed holds court in this creamy-toned bedroom.

A row of blinds stacks atop frosted-glass sliders in this skinny den.

The laundry room has minty green walls that complement a Monstera atop the dryer.

A yellow sink and green tub/shower pick colors, no doubt, from the ditsy-floral wallpaper in this full bathroom.

A well-used shampoo sink and stylist chair hold court in this home-salon.

The house measures 2,855 square feet and sits on almost a half-acre of land with plenty of skinny outdoor deck space.
It’s under a mile to 2 Alices Coffee Lounge.

But wouldn’t you also just want to brew your own cup and enjoy this sunny view from inside this cool Cornwall contemporary?
