A Crowd-Worthy New Paltz Home: $995K

New Paltz carries a multitude of labels. College town. Apple-picking place. Cool walkable downtown. The list goes on.
This week, Upstater explores this multi-label municipality. Today’s pick is actually New Paltz in mailing address only—it lies closer to its northern neighbor of Tillson. But this crowd-worthy New Paltz home is worth a peek. Three bedrooms lay within nearly 5,000 square feet of crowd-entertaining space.

The entry gives you pause.

With its own woodstove, the space makes us want to stop and sit awhile.

The main level is mostly an open concept of sitting rooms, a living room, dining room, and kitchen…with a few surprises.

This sitting room has another one right behind it, but only because this sofa creates a barrier. The space is flexible enough to create one larger sitting room.

The kitchen has a sizable center island and another island that serves as a breakfast bar/dining area. The hardwood floor, stainless-steel appliances, and richly stained wood cabinetry raise the bar.

The dining room sits next to the entry door.

This room off the kitchen now serves as a coffee bar. Trust us when we say there’s a lot of flex space in this house.

Just past the dining room is this spectacular entertainment space. Check out the virtual tour online for the full treatment. This room’s got a tile floor, triple closets, a whitewashed-brick fireplace, sliders to the rear deck, and a sunken hot tub.

And, just off THAT room and down a single step is the primary suite. The bedroom has shiny hardwood flooring and canary-yellow walls. The ensuite bath is actually just a half-bath, but no matter, because…

…there’s a full bath next to the entertainment space, with a platform jetted tub and separate shower (and a urinal; you’ll see it in the virtual tour).

Upstairs, you’ll find this bedroom that’s big enough for two beds…

…another bedroom with the same beautiful hardwood flooring that exists in almost all the other rooms…

…and a hall bath with a roomy shower stall.

A heated pool ups the entertainment value in the warmer weather.

Intricate pavers and stonework reflect the care that previous owners have given to the property.

Two detached garages (one a single-car, the other two-car) flank a spacious parking area. The property, all told, totals 19.9 acres. It’s six miles to downtown New Paltz, but with this kind of luxurious living, you might not need any other distractions (but oysters at The Lemon Squeeze could entice you).
