A Cute Rhinebeck Home on Nearly 14 Acres: $615K

  |  May 28, 2024

Today, Upstater is visiting a cute Rhinebeck home that’s set on nearly 14 acres and surrounded by a 125-acre forest conservancy, but is still just minutes from the village center.

The house is a manageable size—three bedrooms and just one bath within 1,612 square feet. The exterior is covered in cedar shakes with white trim on the windows and doors.

The main entrance is on the lower level just off the driveway.

The entry door opens to a bright, airy, terracotta-tiled room that could be anything the new owner dreams up: Mudroom, playroom…

Whatever it becomes, it’s a cute space now, with white wainscoting and stairs that wrap their way up to the main level.

The living room is even brighter, with a wraparound bank of windows just dousing the hardwood flooring with sunlight. A stone fireplace solidifies one end of the room.

All of that built-in storage below the windows is a bibliophile’s dream. The windows are swing-open casements to let the fresh air in along with those amazing leafy views.

The kitchen fairly tattles out loud that the house was built in 1972. We’re kinda not a fan of the white-and-oak cabinetry and the cobalt-tile backsplash, and would consider redoing the kitchen if it was ours. But that floor is a keeper, after some refinishing. Sliders from the dining area lead to the deck.

The kitchen is a generous U-shape, with an awful lot of storage possibilities.

The three bedrooms carry the same white-and-oak esthetic. This room has sliders to the deck, too.

This room is a blank slate, albeit with a pretty wood floor.

Each room has its own closet, too.

The sole bathroom has a late-model Formica-like vanity and a tub-shower.

An awning rolls out over this lengthy deck when the sunbeams slap too hard.

The basement houses the laundry machines and utilities.

Plus there’s a roll-up garage door.

A Monet-like bridge spans a tiny brook on the property.

A spring-fed pond, mature flowering trees, and perennial flower gardens also reside around the property.
