A Cutie-Pie of a Cottage: and it's on the Shawangunk Ridge.

We’re heading into the summer season, and what better way to enjoy the fireflies than on the deck of a cutie-pie cottage?
Today’s pick is in Phillipsport, Sullivan County. In the days of the D&H Canal, this hamlet was indeed a port for canawlers. Now, it’s a somewhat sleepy part of the Shawangunk Ridge. This cottage was built in 1969 and has since been renovated to a gleaming shine.

The living room has hardwood flooring, big windows, and a stone fireplace…

…that’s conveniently electrically lit.

The bathroom has a high-efficiency toilet and a marble-lined shower.

French doors from this bedroom lead to the back deck. Mini-split ductless ventilation is a bonus.

The kitchen is surprisingly roomy for a sub-1,000-square-foot home.

Maple cabinetry is topped with quartz counters.

The dining area sits at the far end of the kitchen, with an office area beyond it.

Head down the metal-lined, wood stairs…

…to a basement that’s ready to be finished.

The back deck is spartan but pretty. The house sits on 0.16 of an acre. It’s just a mile up the road from the nonprofit Phillipsport Community Center, THE place to be in the summertime for easy-going live music.
