A Dutch Colonial in Kingston: $399.9K

  |  September 25, 2024

This c.1940 Dutch Colonial in Kingston sits on a knoll with graceful stone steps and a stone wall along the road frontage.

The exterior could use a refresh, but its bones are good: We especially like the open-air second-story deck above an enclosed, screened porch.

The entry is fresh and bright, with hardwood flooring and white walls.

The arched doorways, a classic nod to its 1940s era, are echoed in the niches that flank a white-bricked fireplace in the living room.

The dining room, just off the living room, is bright and sunny.

So is the kitchen, which has vintage-look white cabinets in pristine condition. Stainless-steel appliances add a modern touch, along with a white subway-tile backsplash.

More cabinets are on an adjoining wall, next to the fridge and stairs that lead to the basement.

A skinny, three-season room is coolly elegant, as well.

White tongue-and-groove paneling covers the walls in the main-floor bath, which has a curved shower stall.

Head up the main stairs and turn right to continue up a few steps to the second floor. Alternatively, bang a left out this door…

…onto the lofty outdoor porch.

Back inside, the second-floor bath has black-and-white penny tile and a sleek, white tub/shower.

This bedroom is drenched in sunlight.

Glass doorknobs and O.G. light fixtures add vintage character throughout the house, like they do in this bedroom.

The third bedroom awaits a decorator touch.

The basement, too, is in need of some refreshing.

A lil red woodstove is a cute touch.

A bar area, too, is kinda cute.

The laundry machines occupy a less-finished part of the basement. The house measures 1,542 square feet, though we’re unsure if those measurements take the basement into account.

If you’re in need of more storage space, look no further than the barn-style, five-car, detached garage with a studio space up top.

The house sits on more than a third of an acre in the heart of Kingston; catch live music at Hutton Brickyards just 2.4 miles away. Plus, the price just went down $19,000.
