Upstater is at a four-bedroom Cape in the City of Beacon.

Its mailing address is Beacon, but it’s actually a two-mile trek to downtown. Not a dealbreaker, by any means, as it sits on a fifth of an acre between Fishkill and Beacon proper. It has a cute little covered entry, and a sweeping front lawn.

The foyer is classic Cape Cod style, with the front door swooping open to the staircase and a living room off to the side.

The kitchen cabinets have been dolled up in glossy blue. To be honest, the new owner may want to swap out the counters and the floor.

As large as the kitchen seems, there’s no room for the fridge, which finds itself against a wall in the super-roomy dining room. Add up all these elements, and you come up with a potential redo of the layout by the new homeowner.

Being a Cape, there’s a bedroom on the main floor. It’s got a rich, hardwood floor and plenty of windows.
