A Four-Bedroom in Sullivan County That’s Accessible to Everything: $525K

  |  April 18, 2023

Today, Upstater’s in Sullivan County, at a house with a Bloomingburg mailing address that’s technically outside the village proper.

This home was built in 1960 and has had additions since. It now measures 2,369 square feet, with four bedrooms and 2.5 baths. The front view shows a big bank of Tesla solar panels on the newly replaced main roof, and another—equal in size—on the new roof of the attached, two-car garage. An accessibility ramp leads from the front porch to the ground.

The entry is bright, with hardwood floors and wood treads on the white center staircase.

To the right is this very-green dining room. A five-light chandelier hangs from a ceiling medallion, and there’s a lot of room for furniture against the chair-railed walls.

The living room is also a good size, with a more toned-down, neutral color scheme. It’s got the same wood floors and a handsome tiled fireplace on a wall kitty-corner from a picture window.

The bright, yellow kitchen has a big center island topped with a dark butcher-block-like countertop. The rest of the counters are marble-style Formica. A slinky light, combining spotlights and pendants, dangles over the island. A mosaic-tile border bisects the white-tile backsplash between the white upper and lower cabinets. Stainless-steel appliances have been recently updated.

This room off the kitchen isn’t identified in the listing, but we’d guess it’s a former breezeway between the main house and the garage that’s been enclosed into a family room. A short flight of steps leads from the kitchen down to the white tiled floor. A woodstove sits next to French doors that lead out to the back deck.

The listing says there are four bedrooms, but only three are pictured. This one has wall-to-wall carpeting and a ceiling fan.

The same goes for this room, which also has wallpapered wainscoting.

This bedroom also has a ballet barre.

Only one of the 2.5 bathrooms is pictured with the listing. It has black and white tile, a vintage, two-tap sink with chrome legs, and a clawfoot tub.

The back deck is spacious. It has gray flooring and white railings.

Steps lead to a path on the way to a beautiful inground pool.

There are 4.4 acres to play with, and since you’re up on a mountain, there are pretty views that unfortunately aren’t pictured in the listing. Although wooded and quiet, it’s only eight minutes to Route 17 and a vanilla/chocolate twist (with rainbow sprinkles) at Quickway Twin Cone. Town of Wallkill restaurants and shopping are just a 15-minute drive from here.
