A Glen Spey Cottage on Six-plus Acres: Pa Ingalls has got nothin' on this.

A new twist on the Little House in the Big Woods.
This c.2010 contemporary has the stilted (in a good way) look of an Outer Banks cottage, with the tiny-house ethos reminiscent of Laura and Pa. The shaved logs, however, have been replaced by modern siding and glass. Lots of glass.

The entry is a wall of wooden closets, a light hardwood floor, and wooden steps upstairs.

The living/dining/kitchen area is open-concept, with a beautiful hardwood floor upon which to tread and wide doorways at either end.

The kitchen’s not huge, but it’s totally serviceable with a tight galley format; white and gray cabinetry; and counters that include butcher block (on the breakfast bar and dropleaf table) and charcoal solid-surface (everywhere else).

This angle reveals a wood-burning stove on the way to the glass-enclosed porch.

Yup, there’s glass on the ceiling as well as the walls. And well there should be, with views such as this.

Here’s how it looks from the outside.

The interior sub-1,000-square-foot space magically includes laundry space.

Two bedrooms and two bathrooms fit inside the glass-and-modern-siding envelope. This bedroom has white walls and deep windowsills trimmed in hardwood that matches the flooring. The ceiling is airily high.

This bath is awash in white and wood.

The same goes for this one, with a more solid place for towels.

Lots of windows highlight this bedroom, which has a handsome hardwood floor and quite a bit of space.

A second view of the living area shows the proximity of the doorways leading to the porch and deck.

There’s a lotta room out here on the deck.

Oh, to perch amid the pines.

A solar array saves some cash as far as electricity goes. Including the landscape taken by those panels, the property totals 6.33 acres—a must in Sullivan County, since there’s a plethora of natural magic to be had here. And you’re super-close to the Delaware River from here.
