A Mix of Old and New in Hudson: $410K

Here’s another unassuming Cape that has surprises inside. This c. 1950 Hudson home has a good mix of old and new.
The exterior almost could not be more classic, from its black-and-white color scheme to the twin dormers punching through the roof.

A sunny mudroom is perfect for shedding damp outerwear this time of year.

A traditional, built-in bookcase wall in the living room holds collections of whatever the new owner desires. It could use some repainting, but otherwise is perfect.

The kitchen, too, appears to be a mix of old and new. We love that curved corner on the upper cabinets as much as we love that chef’s-grade gas range. The wood cabinets jut out into an L-shaped peninsula. There’s a dining space next to the kitchen, too.

The house is listed as having four bedrooms. This one is comfortably traditional, with a view to the back deck.

This upstairs room has a mix of wood flooring, along with blue walls trimmed in white.

A big, built-in cupboard system offers a world of storage.

The bathroom’s been modernized. We love that stark, simply beautiful vanity.

The shower stall with a teak seat has body jets and a steam sauna, both with light therapy, according to the listing.

A spa tub is sunk into a wood platform. There’s a second bath in the house, too.

This upper-floor bedroom has the same dormer nooks as the blue room. The walls here are more neutral.

The rear deck has a raised section with three long steps down to the next level.

The house sits on a double lot that’s technically in Greenport, just a shade outside the Hudson city limits. Still, it’s super-close to everything likable about Hudson—like, it’s just a mile from the super-colorful and fun Lil’ Deb’s Oasis.
