A Newly-Renovated Victorian Bargain in Delaware County, $71,700
Kandy Harris | June 26, 2015The town of Sidney in western Delaware County always seems so far away to us. After all, it is an hour from Margaretville, and Margaretville can feel pretty far. In actuality, however, Sidney is about 3 hours (less if you drive with a heavy foot) from Manhattan, only a half-hour longer than staying in good Ulster County. Not too bad, especially when you consider the real estate prices. Take, for example, this neat Victorian in the village of Sidney. It’s turn-key, has undergone a recent renovation, looks nice on the inside, and comes with a quarter-acre residential lot walking distance to the village. Could be a great homebase for nature-lovers and anglers since the Susquehanna River is nearby, but no so nearby as to create a flood issue, apparently (the listings says it’s not in a flood zone all-caps). Includes large deck in the backyard.
7 Cherry St, Sidney (Benson Agency)
