A Renovated Midcentury Modern in Warwick: 14 acres of passive parkland is a bonus!
Jane Anderson | February 11, 2025
This renovated, Midcentury Modern home in Warwick is steps away from 14 acres of passive parkland, yet is a half-mile from the heart of the village.
Built in 1955, its traditional vibes hark back to an earlier decade (or few). Red shutters pop against white siding; second-story eyebrow windows up the old-fashioned ante. A wide porch leads to the front door.

The foyer’s ceramic tile extends through the living room and dining room.

A three-sided fireplace is so Mad-Men-esque. The curved bank of multipaned windows pours light into the living room.

The other side of the fireplace faces a wood-paneled family room.

The dining room is airy and big enough for holiday meals.

The kitchen, too, is a welcome gathering space. White cabinets alternate between solid doors and backlit glass doors. Brown granite counters are a lighter touch than the usual gray or black.

A breakfast bar overlooks the yard, apart from the kitchen but still a part of it.

Three bedrooms are on the main level. This one is on the smaller side, with a wood floor and enough space for a twin bed.

The second bedroom is much bigger, with the same hardwood flooring.

The hall bath is basic but ready for decorating, with marbleized tile on the floor and a white-and-oak vanity. Frosted-glass sliders shield the shower.

The main-floor primary bedroom has sliding barn doors on the closets.

The ensuite bath has a carved-shell vanity and a shower that’s similar to the hall bath.

Head upstairs to the second floor, dedicated to a second primary suite. Those eyebrow windows are above the bed, which faces a big picture window that’s flanked by six casement windows.

The primary bath here has a corner shower stall and an upgraded vanity with a granite top.

And, look, a washer and dryer are behind shuttered bifold doors. The second-floor primary suite has its own entrance stairwell from the backyard.

More living space and an additional laundry room are in the finished basement.

The rear of the house has a pergola over a patio; the house sits on a third of an acre in a cul-de-sac, just a half-mile outside the heart of the village of Warwick (try Warwick Thai for good eats). If you get the urge to wander, Madison Lewis Woodlands, a municipally owned passive park, stretches out for 14 acres practically at the doorstep.
