A Row House Near Mount St. Mary: It's minutes from the waterfront.

  |  March 27, 2025

This row house is across from the Mount St. Mary campus in Newburgh.

The brick exterior is blue and red, with a painted front stoop to match.

The foyer is pretty, though we would consider re-doing the floor.

The ceiling in the front parlor is an interesting green—perhaps it, too, could be a candidate for change. Otherwise, the bow window and hardwood floor are eye-catching.

Delft tile fills the opening in the marble fireplace.

A wide doorway separates the parlor from the kitchen.

Alas, any original details in the kitchen have been lost in favor of utilitarianism. Still, the appliances look newer, as does the oak cabinetry. Purists may want to replace all of that, and the drop ceiling, too.

This bedroom has good qualities, though it could use a new coat of paint (sparing the original trim).

Big tiles fill the floor and tub walls in this bathroom. Those tiles will repeat elsewhere in the house.

Cobalt-blue tiles cover the fireplace in this bedroom.

There are a total of four bedrooms on the main and top level of the house.

A separate, outdoor entrance leads…

…to an accessory, one-bedroom apartment. Here’s that tile again, along with a bright and sunny bow window and a third decorative fireplace.

This kitchen is nearly identical to the one upstairs.

There’s one bedroom…

…and one bath, all including more big tiles.

It sits on 0.06 of an acre, with a backyard. It’s close to shopping and not far from the Beacon train station. Hudson Taco is a mere mile away.
