A Victorian a Block Off Cold Spring’s Main Street: $750K

  |  October 9, 2024

This Victorian is a block off Cold Spring’s Main Street. As adorable it is on the outside, its interior has details that are even more freaking cute.

Those peaked roof angles are just a hint at what’s in store.

We love the green trim surrounding the porch, windows, steps, and door. A twining arch of roses creates a natural necklace out front.

The house was built in 1900, and is being sold as-is: The entry shows some wear, but details like that stunning newel post and the hardwood flooring are worth expending some elbow grease.

Punched-tin tiles serve a dual purpose in the living room/library, creating an accent wall and providing a fireproof backing for a freestanding, wood-burning stove. The walls of bookshelves have an interesting, blue-painted interior *we’re taking notes to stock up on paint for our own bookshelves…*

Creative uses of paint continue in the dining room. Teal trim runs along the edges of big-patterned wallpaper wainscoting. The pops of color really stand out amid a dark hardwood floor.

The use of bold wallpaper takes courage, but here, it works.

An O.G. farmhouse sink is lovingly preserved in the kitchen. It sits within a length of gray-green counters on top of white cabinets.

Stainless-steel appliances look new; however, the linoleum floor could use an update.

A teal French door leads outside. The hue is repeated on the baseboards and the tiled backsplash.

Remember those peaked roof angles? Here they are from the inside. This bedroom has gorgeous angles and floor-to-ceiling windows, along with a  smaller window that’s particularly pretty.

This purple-centric bedroom has a curved bank of three windows next to the bed.

A lofted bed and built-in bookshelves are highlights in this peaked-ceiling bedroom.

It’s been a minute since we’ve seen such a nicely maintained pink-tile bathroom with matching vintage fixtures. Yet, here they are: A pink sink with chrome legs; an oversized tub; pink-and-white floor tile; and pristine pink wall tile with black accents. And another pretty window shows up here.

The third floor’s attic has been refinished into a cozy, chic entertainment cave. Teal carpeting covers the floor, while tongue-and-groove paneling covers all the walls in attractive angles. This shot doesn’t do the space justice…

…but this one does. Dormers cut into the slanted walls likely soak the space in daylight. And there’s plenty of room for play.

The property is just under a tenth of an acre, but it includes a garden shed and this geometric raised-bed garden. Being that it’s right off Main Street, the new owners have many dining choices within a short stroll, including Brasserie Le Bouchon.
