A Warwick Village Home: $470K
Jane Anderson | June 27, 2024The village of Warwick is popular—so popular, in fact, that today’s Upstater listing was on the market when this post was being written, and became a “pending” listing in no time.
But we’re showing off this Warwick village home anyway, because a listing within the village center is a rarity nowadays. This 1,557-square-foot home originated in 1872 and has had updates and renovations since. The current blue siding and black shutters are striking, and its location—perched on a tiny knoll just a few blocks from the village center—is priceless.
The foyer has hardwood flooring, and the side-hall steps match that floor treatment.
The dining room is square and neutral, perfect for the new owner’s imagination.
The living room has lots of windows and a beautiful windowed alcove.
The kitchen itself is a good size, but we think the layout could use some rethinking. A tiny peninsula crowds three stools at one end of a bank of cabinets.
It sits across from the gas range. The flooring is nice, and the cabinets, although vintage, are in fantastic condition.
The other end of the kitchen has a small table, a back door to the yard, and the washer and dryer.
A half bath is a handy touch on the main floor. It’s encased in a bower of wallpaper flowers.
Head up the stairs to a lush, green-carpeted hall.
This bedroom has wall-to-wall carpeting, two windows, and just enough room for a bed and necessary furniture.
This bedroom melds light-blue walls with a greenish wall-to-wall carpeting.
The bathroom upstairs has a dual-sink vanity, black-grouted white tile on the floor, and a lime-green cabinet.
The primary bedroom has beige carpeting and skinny windows.
The back deck is perfect for a portable gazebo. A ground-level patio holds the grill, and the driveway has plenty of room for cars.
The 0.11-acre lot means very little mowing. Plus, it’s within walking distance of downtown Warwick—it’s practically across the street from Dream Donuts, for goodness’ sake—and we encourage you to stretch your legs regularly!
