One thing we discovered about the chalet homes available in the Upstater area is that some of them look a little dated. And that does not bother us even in the slightest. So, we thought it would be fun to unearth a couple of cheapies that could use an updated personality. This one near the Sullivan County village of Woodridge will cost you around $50/square foot (1950 sq. ft. total) and is in turn-key condition. We love the living room most of all because of its hardwood floors, nifty wood stove, and the wall of glass looking out onto the balcony, but we might consider dropping some dough on updating the kitchen cabinets, the bedrooms, and the baths. And, we’d give the whole big beauty a fresh paint job. Still, $100,000 isn’t much to spend on a nearly 2000 square foot home even if the lot size is only about a quarter-acre in size. Located just over the border from Ulster County and less than 2 hours from NYC.
