This adorable Craftsman in Amenia could be considered a bonus Car-Free Country House for the week, since it’s located just a few miles from the Wassaic Metro North station. The Harlem Valley Rail Trail, which will take you all the way there, is practically in this house’s back yard, and it’s walking/biking distance to various Amenia amenities (Amenienities?).

There’s a lot to love about this house: The ornate woodworking, the gorgeous landscaping, the built-ins, the French doors, the gazebo in the yard. We aren’t nuts about the mint-green walls and kelly-green carpeting. There’s just gotta be wood floors under there. Otherwise, it’s a good house for a decent price. And the taxes seem suspiciously low at less than $3000/year.
