An Elusive Car-Free/Five-Figure Combo in Port Jevis, $59,900
Kandy Harris | April 24, 2015Here’s a tidbit from Port Jervis’ recent history: The city in Orange County was featured on Budget Travel’s 10 Coolest Small Towns in 2008. More importantly, however, is the fact that Port Jervis has a train station on the Metro North Jersey line. Said train station is a half-mile away from this charming (if in need of some TLC) 1920s house that’s also walking distance from restaurants, shops, and other nearby amenities. Port Jervis is the western part of the county right across the Delaware River from the Pennsylvania border. Of note in the interior are the embossed ceilings in the living room (you have to squint to the see them in the photos), a finished attic space, and enclosed front porch. We see potential for all kinds of personality here, and although it’s not out in the country on a bunch of land, it might be a suitable upstate escape that’s close to both public transportation and nature. Note: This is a Sallie Mae HomePath property, which means you have to go through a whole thing. Here’s more info.
