An Octagonal Lake Home in Wurtsboro

Today, we’re celebrating Fantastic Find Friday. We just made that up—but this octagonal home in Wurtsboro is pretty darn fine.
It’s got three bedrooms and 1.5 baths within a healthy 1,280 square feet, on a woodsy 1.25-acre lot. Low-maintenance vinyl siding on the exterior means not too much work to do outside.

Inside is a Zen-like ambiance. A wood-clad ceiling radiates from the center of the octagon. Light-brown walls complement both the ceiling and the light-wood flooring. Huge windows bring in tons of light to the living and dining areas.

This tiled and lit niche is a perfect focal point. And don’t miss that wall of closets to the left.

The dining room has a triplet of sashed windows with a verdant view.

A modern, updated kitchen is compact but pretty, with white cabinets and a rough-textured black countertop. The stainless steel appliances look new.

The three bedrooms are all spacious. This one has a double closet.

They each have high ceilings, too.

And they’re conveniently located on the main floor.

The main-floor bath has white fixtures and beige-tile walls.

The ground level is fully finished, with a mudroom that’s perfect for shaking off the day’s worries.

A family room is great for the kids.

This lil spot is made for yoga, when the weather keeps you from practicing outdoors.

And this office is bright.

The second bath has a pedestal sink and penny tile.

Everything down here is bright and white, even the laundry room.

An elevated deck lets you enjoy the sunshine, treehouse-style.

An added bonus: The house comes with rights to Yankee Lake, a 410-acre man-made lake on top of the Shawangunk Ridge. Yes, it’s as pretty as it sounds. Not bad for $454,900.
