An Upstate House with a Name
Lisa Selin Davis | July 19, 2011Although we haven’t yet ventured up toward Schoharie County (editorially speaking, that is–I went to the fair all the time as a kid), a reader alerted us to this post on Apartment Therapy, about a renovated farmhouse called The Smithy, currently for sale for $210,000.
I must admit I like the looks of both the house and the website (sellers: don’t underestimate the power of a good website, not to mention giving your place a name, at least where this potential buyer is concerned). The lovely furnishings are on the market, too, though not included in the asking price.
It’s just too far for me–three hours, 30 minutes from my pad, according to Google maps–but if you’re starting from higher up, the Bronx or Washington Heights, it’s less daunting a drive. Let us know if you inquire!
