Ancramdale Lakeside Contemporary, $490,000
Kandy Harris | August 6, 2013
If you’ve ever watched the Showtime series Weeds with any regularity, chances are, you’ve hummed the words to the theme song “Little Boxes” a time or two. You know the one about how they’re all made of ticky-tacky and they all look just the same? That’s what we thought of when we saw this house, which looks like its neighbors situated in the Long Lake community around Long Pond in Ancram, although we’re sure it’s made of better stuff than ticky-tacky, given the price. In spite of its not-so-unique appearance, we aren’t adverse to the design, and there are elements we truly like: The fire place, the screened-in porch, and the little stone patio. The community provides a lot of perks to residents: A swimming beach, grounds maintenance, a pool, tennis courts, snow removal, nature trails, and outdoor common areas.
