Aquarium/Gallery Proposed for Hudson Warehouse
Kandy Harris | March 12, 2014Here’s something we’re excited about: We just read in the Register-Star that there’s a proposal floating around to turn the old Dunn Warehouse on Water Street in Hudson into an aquarium/gallery space. It came before the Hudson Common Council this past Monday. The article gives more details about what’s on tap for the old warehouse, but in a nutshell, the group heading up the proposal, Hudson Praxis, is envisioning a two-story center with tanks with aquatic life and plants as well as ponds for stream education. Additionally, the plan includes a sky gallery and observation deck. Sounds like a great re-use of this cool old building, if you ask us. If you think so, too, you can throw some money at the aquarium/gallery via Hudson Praxis’ Indiegogo campaign (Hudson Praxis is a volunteer group). The campaign page also includes floor plans and spec illustrations for the center. The location for this place couldn’t be better: It’s right next to the Amtrak station, the Henry Hudson waterfront park, and Basilica Hudson.
