When it comes to details, the custom homes at Hudson Woods in southern Ulster County have them covered, and that includes the walls. So much so, in fact, that those walls recently got some attention from Architectural Digest. NYC-based Calico Wallpaper provided hand-crafted wall coverings for the modern housing development located in the Catskills, painstakingly custom made by Calico co-owners Rachel and Nick Cope.

Calico’s previous work has been in some auspicious settings such as New York’s 432 Park Avenue and Milan’s Salone del Mobile, as well as actors Hayden Panettiere and Neil Patrick Harris’ respective homes. Hudson Woods, on the other hand, is far removed from Italy, Park Avenue, and celebrities’ brownstones in the city. The housing development is situated north of Kerhonkson, nestled along the edge of protected state lands to the west, in a bucolic setting deep in the woods. From ArchitecturalDigest.com:

“Admittedly, a wooded hollow in the middle of the Hudson River Valley does seem an odd place for a wallpaper installation, but the Copes made that ethereal concept a reality when they partnered with Hudson Woods…to host a temporary installation. ‘Nick has been obsessed with Hudson Woods for some time and thought it would be the perfect opportunity for us to be together and make custom artwork in a bucolic setting,’ says Rachel of the project.”

If the cabins’ wall treatments are getting love from AD, imagine how cool the rest of the property looks. Check out the interiors and exteriors on hudsonwoods.com.
