A Modern Approach to Custom Design and Building
Atlantic Custom Homes | May 1, 2017A home should be responsive to your lifestyle, budget and site. By creating the design with you and providing the plans and materials for the structure, Atlantic Custom Homes is able to control costs and eliminate the disconnect that often occurs between design and building. This seamless approach ensures that your project will be predictable as to cost and result. It is your house and your money, so you are always in control at every step.
Here is one of our modern Lindal Elements projects in construction in the Hudson Valley. This post and beam home was designed with the owners after reviewing some of the many designs in Lindal’s planbooks (to view the planbooks go to Lindal.com), a great way to focus ideas and get the design process started. Like many of our homes, walls of glass let the outside in and enlarge the space.
Home with a Hudson Valley View
The owners, NYC residents, wanted to create a house that celebrates the beauty of the Hudson Valley, with large windows displaying the views from every room. The first and loft floors of this custom Lindal Elements home total about 2100SF, with an additional 1000SF plus garage in the walkout lower level. The great room boasts a 21’ high window wall that brings in the view and the sky; the master suite and four-season porch have wall-to-wall windows and glass doors. There is an ensuite guest room in the lower level, and while the loft will be used as an office, it could easily be a second master suite with a very large bath for a soaking tub.
