This Brick Home Beauty is Close Downtown Kingston, $375K

  |  September 24, 2018

Here’s a brick three-story from one of our favorite Hudson Valley neighborhoods…

First, a caveat: This property is marked “pending – continue to show” on the listing, which means an offer’s been made by another potential buyer. However, if, by the end of this post, you find yourself swooning over this totally swoon-worthy house, go ahead. Reach out to the agent. Make an offer. You can’t win if you don’t play.

Now, on to the good stuff! Built in 1860, this Victorian brick townhouse is situated a few blocks north of Kingston’s Rondout neighborhood, AKA The Strand, AKA Downtown, AKA the Kingston Waterfront, AKA the Historic Rondout Waterfront District. It may go by many names, but one thing’s for sure: it’s a cool neighborhood. It’s walkable, with a pretty Rondout Creek backdrop, and offers lots of dining, drinking, strolling, boating, and historic-architecture-ogling. This house is one such example of the area’s charming older homes.

Older home though it may be, the 1,144-square-foot interior includes some modern touches like stainless steel kitchen with subway tile backsplash. Also comes with a full and half-bath with updated fixtures.

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, and a finished, walk-out basement provides another gathering space inside the home.

While we love the inside of this house, we especially love the tiny oasis that surrounds this house. It’s a 3,485-square-foot fenced-in lot packed with gardens, trees, and other growing things, as well as a stone patio. Even though the homes are close to each other on this street, this small yard provides a measure of lush privacy.

Both are walkable communities with a hip, creative vibe, located in the picturesque Mid-Hudson Valley. So, don’t miss our favorite houses for sale all week long on Upstater.com!
