Car-Free Country House: Cooperstown Victorian, $395,000
Kandy Harris | June 5, 2013Cooperstown was our Town of the Week a while back, but we haven’t been back there since then. Not sure why, except that we feared it might be pushing the boundaries a bit of where we like to explore. However, it’s in Ostego County, and it’s not far from both Oneonta, Roxbury, and Delhi, so we are making an executive decision that Cooperstown qualifies as Upstater Territory. We also think Cooperstown makes a great Car-Free location, since there’s a Trailways bus station in town. Additionally, there’s enough in right in Cooperstown itself to make it less painful to be without a car this far upstate. But enough of that; let’s talk about this gorgeous Victorian, located literally a minute’s walk from the Trailways bus station on Elm Street. Right down to the color scheme, we think this circa-1860 house on a quarter of an acre pretty much nails it. Lovely neighborhood, as well.
