Car-Free Country House: Goshen Victorian, $435,000
Kandy Harris | September 11, 2013
As far as trying to make a go of living part-time upstate without a car, you could do worse than Goshen in Orange County. Shortline bus service stops at the park and ride at the corner of Matthews Street and Route 207, and the rest of town and all of the amenities are pretty close to that. This pretty Victorian is located about a mile from the Shortline bus stop, which might be too far to walk depending on the season. We would mostly likely just call a cab to come pick us up and drop us off on our doorstep. The house is fairly close to lots of other things in town, and it’s nice inside. We love the brick. It’s also got an in-ground pool and a covered patio out back. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: Listings need good photos. Some of the photos here are okay, but blurry interior shots of the main common areas of a house don’t do much to sell it. Luckily, this baby has loads of curb appeal. Oh, and did we mention it’s situated on nearly an acre of land?
