Car-Free Country House: Hudson Village Victorian, $319,000
Kandy Harris | May 29, 2013Admittedly, choosing amazing houses in the city of Hudson in Columbia County is a little like shooting fish in a barrel: They’re all over the place, really close to each other, and seemingly easy to nab, price-wise. And here’s another one, located just shy of a mile from the Hudson Amtrak station on the waterfront. Hudson is easy to get around in without a car: It’s hilly in spots, but we don’t mind that. It just means we get more of a workout on the bike when we’re getting from point A to point B.
Now, back to this house. It was built in 1870, is positively dripping with charm on the outside and elegance on the inside. Love the beamed ceilings, staircase, and built-ins. The lot is tiny, but there appears to be just enough room for a wee garden.
