Car-Free Country House: Phoenicia Cottage, $199,000

  |  August 22, 2012

The last time we touted a house in Phoenicia as car-free, we were taken to task (and rightfully so) about the fact that the “car-free” house was several miles from the Trailways bus station, which would make sense when the weather is temperate, but not so much in the cold and snowy winter. Duly noted. This one is MUCH closer, just a half mile away, and while it’s walking distance to everything in Phoenicia, it’s situated on the fringe of town on a little over a half acre in the woods. And it’s next door neighbors with the Empire State Railway Museum, and given our love of small town local museums, we can’t wait to pay it a visit.

Anyway, the house is a decent size (over 2000 square feet) at a decent price, and we love the recessed window in the bedroom. Like we needed yet another excuse to stay in bed and stare out the window all day.
