Car-Free Country House: Red Hook Colonial, $350,000
Kandy Harris | January 2, 2014Our recent discover of the Dutchess County LOOP bus has opened a few more doors for car-free possibilities. This lovely center hall Colonial, for example, is located in the Dutchess County village of Red Hook, and the center of town is a stop on the LOOP which will get passengers to the Metro-North train station in Poughkeepsie in just a touch over 30 minutes. Not too shabby, in our estimation. The house is walking distance to both the bus stop and town, where you’ll find plenty of places at which to shop and eat, and schools are within walking distance, as well. This house falls squarely into “Goldilocks” territory: Pretty, close to town, reasonably-priced, and sitting on a full acre of land. In other words, just right.
