Car-Free Country House: Rhinecliff Cottage, $439,000
Kandy Harris | December 11, 2013A bit steep for a 1 bed/1 bath? Perhaps, although this property does include two additional guest cottages, which might make the price a little more doable, particularly for someone looking for a place right next to the Amtrak station in Rhinecliff. We love the look of it. Very cozy and rustic with a sweet kitchen that includes butcher block counter tops and plenty of shelf space. We’re curious about the extra guest cottages, since the listing does not include photos of the interiors. The property is pretty: Lots of green and a shaded yard. In case you don’t know the score with Rhinecliff, there are a couple of restaurants near the train station but no place to grocery shop, unless you count Montgomery Place Orchards, which is about two miles away in Red Hook. But it’s a seasonal market, and this year, it shut down on December 8th. When will Rhinecliff get themselves a food store? Inquiring minds want to know.
