Car-Free Potential in a Fixer-Upper Cottage
Kandy Harris | June 4, 2014Frankly, we’re not sure if we’d be brave enough to try car-free living in a place like Greene County’s Tannersville, certainly not year-round, but for summer weekends or longer stays, it might be doable. This $129,000 fixer-upper is located about a mile from the Trailways bus stop in the village, which might be a bit far on foot, but on bike, not so bad, especially since it’s a flat ride. And it needs work, although we love that retro kitchen. Within walking distance from here, you’ll find: A grocery store, deli, Italian restaurant, a wine store, a bank, and a country club. That should just about cover it. House sits on over an acre of park-like land. Put a pool on it!
