Car-Free Upstate: Phoenicia Riverfront Cottage, $279,000
Kandy Harris | January 22, 2014It’s been a while since we’ve visited Phoenicia, and this rustic cabin on the Esopus Creek looks like just the type of place we could hole up for the rest of the brutal winter. It’s got a beautiful stone fireplace, vaulted ceilings with skylights, a loft sleeping area, covered front porch, and a large deck. We love the hunting lodge look of it and how cozy it makes us feel. Lot size is over an acre, and while it’s tucked away in the woods, it’s walking distance to the center of town and the Trailways bus station, which stops at Morne Imports on Main Street.
