Car-Free Upstate: Pine Hill Farmhouse, $169,900
Kandy Harris | May 7, 2014
It’s not always easy for us to find the elusive Goldilocks Car-Free house that’s attractive, affordable, possesses a country feel, walking distance to at least a couple of useful destinations, AND accessible to public transportation. But this Pine Hill farmhouse just might fit the bill, or at least come within spitting distance. Granted, the hamlet of Pine Hill in Ulster County isn’t exactly a booming metropolis, but you’ll find a restaurant there, plus a public library. It’s also where Belleayre Mountain is located, and Belleayre Beach, a nice place to swim, is just down the road a piece. The Trailways bus stops less than a mile away. As for the house itself, it looks good, definitely shows promise for looking even better with some minor renovations (it’s turn-key already). Take a look at the Google Streetview at what it looked like back in 2012. The exterior, at least, has been vastly improved since then.
