Carmel Contemporary, $495,000

  |  March 26, 2012

Boyd Corners Reservoir is one of the many lakes and water bodies that reside within the town of Carmel in Putnam County, and according to the listing, this house has seasonal views of it. Resting on 2.5 acres, it looks to be pretty well secluded in the trees and well off the nearest main road, County Road 47. Part of the NYC DEP watershed, the Boyd Corners reservoir is touted to be a good place to bass fish, if you’re so inclined.

At nearly 4,000 square feet, 57 Stonegate Court is a fairly decent bargain at $128/square foot as long as you pay no-nevermind to the taxes, which could be a potential dealbreaker at  $11,119 (propertyshark.com). Yowza. This is good area of the outdoorsy types, though, as the area is surrounded by three state multiple-use areas: California Hill, Pudding Street, and Ninham Mountain.

The 5 bedroom, 3.5 bath house has tons of windows, a 2-story living room with fire place, a separate office suite with its own entrance, and a wrap-around balcony off the top floor. Property also includes a barn.
