Catskill Mountain Victorian on an Acre of Land, $199K

  |  March 6, 2018

Northern Greene County is where we found this Catskill Mountain Victorian with a bushel-and-a-half of charm included…

Don’t let this well-tended Victorian’s physical address scare you away. While a portion of this property may straddle the Greene County line into Rensselaerville, it’s more in Greene County than it’s not. In fact, it’s situated directly across the road from Zoom Flume water park and nearby a host of other Catskills attractions. But we’ll get to those in a bit.

Dating back to 1881, the three-bedroom house hasn’t lost any of its original charm and grace through the years. Comes with attractive hardwood floors, living room fireplace, big vintage kitchen, high ceilings, and formal dining room. The first floor includes an additional room that could be an office, den, or additional bedroom.

Furthermore, up the main staircase to the second floor, there are four bedrooms (we found this fact buried a bit in the listing, even though the house is categorized as a three-bedroom) and an additional full bath. Overall, the bedrooms are roomy but could use a bit of updating…except for those wood floors, which are gorgeous. Don’t you touch those!

The one-acre plot includes three outbuildings, two of which are barns, and the third of which is a vintage outhouse that should most definitely be up-cycled to “storage shed.”

Require still more space? The seller is offering an additional 60 adjoining acres for $100K. Or, you can buy the whole kit and caboodle – 61 acres and the house – for $289K total. Still a bargain!

If you like to spend time outside, you’re going to love this location. It’s close to hiking, swimming holes on the Catskill Creek, farm stands, horseback riding, kayaking, and hiking.
