For Million-Dollar Views at a Five-Figure Price, Head to Greene County…
Kandy Harris | June 1, 2018There, you’ll find this Catskills Cape Cod listed for $75,900…
If you’re unfamiliar with Purling up in Greene County, we wouldn’t be surprised. The bucolic hamlet, boasting a population of around 530 residents, is situated about five minutes off of Route 23 in Cairo, and that’s far enough off this not-so-beaten path to make it a tucked-away community. Purling also offers open views of Round Top and the Windham-Blackhead mountain range to the west, as does this three-bedroom house. No seasonal views here. This is how it looks all the time.
Furthermore, this Purling half-acre has a modicum of privacy, particularly in the back of the house, as well as a large deck ideal for taking in those views.
It probably won’t come as a surprise to hear that this house needs a lot of love and attention, possibly beyond cosmetics (sagging, cracked walls generally fill us with dread). Hardwood floors, however, are included, and there’s over 1,400 square feet of interior space.
Is it worth the work? That’s not for us to decide. Walking out onto the deck to the Great Northern Catskills greeting us each morning, though, could be enough to persuade to us to roll up our sleeves and get to work.
