Here at Upstater, we’ve been throwing love to our friends in the northwestern Catskill Mountains for several years now, but it seems to rest of the world has now caught wind of Delaware County NY’s many charms.
Recently, Chronogram featured a useful guide to all that the area has to offer. Find farm-to-table cheese in Margaretville, first-class accommodations in Roxbury, food from a CIA grad in Andes, books galore in Hobart, and historic sites in the college town of Delhi. Fun Fact: Did you know that Delaware County farmers played a roll in the Anti-Rent War of the 1830s, which led to the creation of tenant’s rights? Fun Fact: Did you know that there’s a Civil War deserters’ cave in Arkville?
Intrigued? Read more about it in Chronogram’s guide to Delaware County and start planning your weekend trip now. Don’t forget to add Plattekill Mountain for winter recreation and Stone and Sawyer in Delhi for Mid-Century-inspired stone wear table lamps. What doesn’t Delaware County NY have?
