Cold Spring Antique Federal, $699,000
Kandy Harris | August 13, 2014Cold Spring’s accessibility to NYC almost certainly plays into its high housing prices. It’s also a tourist town with lots of quaintness in the form of shops and cafes, and the waterfront park in the village is a lovely place to hang out and catch some nice views of the river (the Metro-North station is on the waterfront, as well). So when you look at this c.1810 Federal-style abode through the lens of location, the $699,000 price tag is neither unusual nor unexpected. And it certainly doesn’t skimp on the charm with three fireplaces, lots of windows, and, purportedly, a beehive oven, which is sadly not depicted. Lot size is nothing special at less than a quarter-acre, but it’s neighbors with an old historic church property and surrounded by other pretty homes. The Metro North station is about a 10 minute walk away.
