Catskill Creek Colonial with a Fab New Makeover, $689K
Kandy Harris | November 22, 2021
This Colonial Italianate renovation offers a coveted spot close to everything in Catskill village, including the Catskill Creek.
This week on Upstater, we’re giving love to the Greene County village of Catskill, NY, situated on the west side of the Hudson River. The historic town’s real estate listings are giving us serious homeownership-envy these days, particularly when it comes to this refreshed four-bedroom house perched on a hill overlooking the Catskill Creek.

Thanks to the magic of Google Streetview, we caught a glimpse of what the house looked like pre-reno. Its “before” picture would reveal a shabby, weather-worn exterior in barn-red and wood siding. However, the “after” shot shows a new white paint job with the ornate gingerbread detailing on the front porch kept intact. A transom door with pink windows let’s you know that what’s going on inside is probably going to be pretty cool…

…and, indeed, the 3,049-square-foot interior is a breath of fresh air, with renewed plank floors.

In fact, the house is more new than old, with a redone kitchen equipped with high-end appliances…

…and bright, breezy common rooms on the ground floor.

Upstairs, the primary bedroom offers closet space and new floors…

…along with the other three bedrooms plus a full bath.

The property includes a large fenced yard, safe for kids and pets, as well as a patio for warm-weather cookouts.

You can catch those Catskill Creek glimpses from the front porch, or you can take a wander into town, or Dutchmen’s Landing Park, both mere steps away here. If you’re curious about what Catskill village has to offer in terms of a home, hang out with Upstater all this week for more of our favorite listings!
