Columbia County Craftsman Cabin, $199,000
Kandy Harris | November 30, 2015This c.1917 Stuyvesant beauty has the low-slung stature of a Craftsman Bungalow with a log cabin feel, and that combo works for us. That Craftsman look continues throughout the interior with wood trim, rustic ceiling beams, and kitchen cabinetry. For the reasonable price tag, you get the 1850 sq. ft. cabin with 3 beds/1 bath (one bedroom + bath on the first floor, two beds on the second floor) and an acre of land located near the quiet, rural hamlet of Stuyvesant on the Hudson River, a gorgeous if sleepy area, to be sure. The only qualm we have over the location is that there seems to be railroad tracks the run directly across the road from this property, which could disturb the peaceful nature of this locale. Still, a unique find for the cabin lover in all of us.
802 Route 9J, Stuyvesant (Halstead Property)
