Copake Queen Anne Victorian, $397,000
Kandy Harris | July 1, 2013
Here it is: The grand house that inspired us to choose Copake at this week’s Town of the Week, thanks to a head’s up by a loyal Upstater reader. And what a striking circa-1800 marvel she is. Here’s what going on inside and out: A giant covered porch, five bedrooms, three baths, over 4,600 square feet, situated on 5 acres, butler’s pantry, mahogany staircase, barns and outbuildings included. Here’s what she needs: According to the listing, she needs a big clean-up, some decorating, and a liberal coating of TLC. But oh, can you imagine what it will look like once the work is finished? Sadly, we couldn’t locate pictures of the interior, but there might be a reason for that (read: “she needs a big clean-up” above). The blue historical market gives a bit about the home’s history, although it’s a little difficult to read. We love a blue historical marker. Always a treat to find one on a property.
