Country Cape in Neversink, $149,000

We haven’t pointed it out yet, but perhaps you’ve noticed Neversink’s incredibly low tax rate. Yesterday, for example, we posted a farmhouse on 88 acres with a yearly tax rate of around $5,000. That’s almost unheard of ’round these parts. And we think this cape would make an excellent choice for first-home buyers, not only because it’s a 1,400 square foot house for less than $150,000, but the taxes are less than $2,000 a year. Granted, the lot size is only 3/4 of an acre, but this looks like a good deal to us.
