Country Cottage in Phoenicia, $184,000
Kandy Harris | February 1, 2013As we bid a fond farewell to Phoenicia this week, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention this house and this house, both of which we’ve mentioned previously, are still on the market.
This circa-1900 cottage is nearby what has become one of our favorite landmarks around Phoenicia, Stony Clove Creek. We had to do a little digging to find out some particulars about it, since the listing doesn’t offer much. The lot size is but a mere half-acre, but the cottage is cozy-looking, thanks in part to the pellet stove which, according to the list, keeps the entire house warm.
One of its potential drawbacks is that it seems to be pretty close to Route 214 (thanks, Streetview!), and the interior could use a bit of updating. But for less than $200,000, you could invest some coin and make it a great little country getaway, just a mile or so outside of Phoenicia.
